VMAWM Update – January 2022

Hello, VMAWM Members!

We know we haven’t been as visible in the community as years past. This is due, in part, to COVID-19. As volunteer managers, we all know that COVID-19 has forever changed the ways in which our programs operate. Being a completely volunteer driven board ourselves, it can be difficult to juggle the ever-changing safety updates, commitments, and responsibilities within our personal careers in addition to the responsibilities of VMAWM.

That said, we are here and we are not going anywhere. Despite the challenges that COVID-19 has brought us, our team is committed to the volunteer community in West Michigan.

That’s a wrap!

A huge thanks to everyone for participating, planning and enjoying our 4th Annual Volunteer Management Conference which was held on May 8th. Greetings Nonprofit Professionals,

Come join the Volunteer Management Associations of Western Michigan on May 12, 2017 for our Annual Half Day Conference. This year nonprofit professionals from all over will engage in Creative Solutions For Volunteer Management.  VMAWM Half Day Conference will be held at the Catholic Diocese of Grand Rapids located at 360 Division Ave S, Grand Rapids, MI 49503 from 8:00 – 1:00 PM.

Our Keynote Speaker is Bridget Clark Whitney, Executive Director of Kids’ Food Basket. Bridget has years of nonprofit experience and is extremely knowledgeable on mobilizing large groups of volunteers to meet community needs. Our conference also has innovative breakout sessions, dynamic speakers, and creative projects planned throughout the morning complimented with a hot lunch buffet.

This year’s conference will focus on interactive solutions for professional development and volunteer leadership. You will have the opportunity to meet other volunteer leaders, further your skills, and grow your network!
